As a crucial part of our maintenance team, your role in air hoses from shop floors is instrumental in enhancing efficiency, productivity, and safety while curtailing leaks and wear. Now, let’s delve into how to mount air hose reels, which relies on your expertise.

How To Mount Air Hose Reels

Mount retractable air hose reels like this:

  • Before installing, ensure the spring tension is relaxed.
  • Apply tape to the hose thread.
  • Hand thread retractable air hose onto outlet riser.
  • Use a wrench to tighten and secure the connection.
  • Wind spool up, holding retractable air hose to ensure it stays on the reel.
  • Track revolutions necessary to wrap all hosing onto the reel, using tape to mark each rotation. Should resistance occur, the reel is likely being turned in the wrong direction.
  • Turn the reel an appropriate number of times to achieve proper retractable air hose tension.
  • If the reel resists before this number of turns, turn in the opposite direction to set tension.
  • Pull out a section of retractable air hose and engage the lock.
  • Install hose ball stop loosely around the end of the hose.
  • Adjust hose ball stop until lock is in neutral position.
  • Ensure ball stop is positioned against roller.
  • Use a screwdriver to tighten hose ball stop.
